Welcome to Fir Tree Primary School. The Headteacher, Mr Mike Steer, introduces a warm, welcoming, and values‑based environment with high expectations, dedicated staff, and a focus on helping every child flourish socially and academically.
Wraparound care includes a Breakfast Club and Lunch Club. Breakfast club is £3.50 per day; Lunch supervision is £3.50 per day. Nursery has funded places (15 hours and 30 hours) with a day rate of £16.92 (£5.64 per hour) for extending to 30 hours. Nursery times include Morning Sessions 8:30am – 11:30am; Lunch Session 11:30am - 12:15pm (for 30 hours children); Afternoon Sessions 12:15pm – 3:30pm.
At Fir Tree Primary School, pupils on the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) register receive tailored interventions. West Berkshire's policy is to admit children in the academic year they are five (September). Our Foundation pupils are taught in our Foundation Unit. We admit children from local nurseries/playgroups as well as from our own Nursery. West Berkshire Council acts as the Admissions authority for Fir Tree Primary School. Places are allocated by West Berkshire. Open days/visits are arranged; Admissions Policy documents are downloadable (e.g., 2024-25, 2026-2027, 2027-2028).
