Curriculum Highlights

Core curriculum includes English, Maths, ICT and Living Skills Pathways focus: Lumenus, Activ8, Digit4All and Community Living Subject groupings and options include Art (Leisure), Music (Leisure), Dance and Drama Well-Being Programme, Dance and Drama Performance, Duke of Edinburgh, Sports (Leisure) Pupils taught in mixed-ability groups in Years 10 and 11 with seven lessons of their Pathway per week Technology: iPads are used to support learning

Wraparound Care

After-School Care: Yes

After School Club runs from 3:10pm to 4:45pm (Mon–Thu) with a £5 per day charge. Holiday Clubs run during October, February, Easter and May half terms and for the first four weeks of the Summer holidays, at £15 per day. After School Club is currently available at New Bridge School and New Bridge Learning Centre; Holiday Club is based at New Bridge School (Roman Road) site. Booking and communications are via Arbor; activities include arts and crafts, swimming, sports, etc.

SEND Provision

New Bridge School is a specialist school for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) developed to meet the needs of students with an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP) from the age of 11 up to 19. The school also has specialised provision for pupils who may be on the autistic spectrum.

Admissions Criteria

New Bridge School is a state of the art Secondary Special School for pupils with EHCP aged 11 to 19.
