Admissions Criteria

Oversubscription criteria for admission: Priority 1 = children in the care of a Local Authority or previously looked after; Priority 2 = children with medical needs for whom the school is the only appropriate option; Priority 3 = children of staff employed at the school for two+ years or recruited for a vacant post; Priority 4 = children with a sibling at the school. If oversubscribed, random allocation is used for postcodes BN1, BN2, BN3, and BN41 after applying the above priorities. Age rules allow rising five entrants (Reception) with deferral options; in-year admissions follow the Local Authority coordinated scheme; appeals are handled via an independent panel. The Governors act as the admissions authority with Brighton & Hove City Council coordinating the process. See Admissions Arrangements 2025-26 for details.
