Bellerive FCJ Catholic College is a Catholic school rooted in gospel values and the FCJ charism. The FCJ values (Excellence, Companionship, Dignity, Justice, Hope and Gentleness) are at the heart of school life. The school maintains a Chapel with morning prayer and Mass, chaplaincy activities, and links with local parishes. It is part of the Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ) network, with involvement from the FCJ Sisters, and describes itself as a worshipping community guided by FCJ spirituality.

Key Stage 3: Core subjects English, Mathematics, Science, Religious Education, Physical Education and PSHE; Languages; History; Geography; Creative Arts (Art, Music and Drama); Design Technology; Food Preparation and Nutrition; Textiles; Computing. Key Stage 4: Core curriculum English Language and English Literature, Mathematics, Science (Combined Science or Separate Sciences), Religious Education, Physical Education, PSHE; a range of GCSE options including Languages, Humanities, Creative Arts, Technology, Business and vocational qualifications such as Sports Studies and Health and Social Care. Key Stage 5: Wide range of Level 3 courses including full A level programme, Applied General Qualifications or a blended pathway with a choice of qualifications including facilitating subjects. Curriculum design emphasizes being broad, balanced and inclusive, with personalised guidance for subject choices, and a strong emphasis on preparing for next steps in education, employment or training. It is enriched by a Personal Development programme and extensive extracurricular and chaplaincy activity.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions policies for 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 are available to view. The Bellerive FCJ Admissions Application Form must be returned to the school, and the Liverpool City Council online application must also be completed. A copy of the child’s Baptismal/Other Faith Certificate must be submitted to support the application. The Liverpool City Council application form must be completed by 31 October 2025. Information about in-year admissions, admissions consultation for 2027-2028, and a draft admissions policy are also available on the site.
