Barnby Dun Primary Academy is an inclusive school. It identifies and supports pupils with SEND through four main areas (Communication & Interaction; Cognition & Learning; Social, Emotional & Mental Health; Sensory/Physical). It uses the Assess-Plan-Do-Review process with termly reviews and provides targeted interventions; pupils may be added to the SEND register in agreement with parents.
Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 meals are free under the government scheme. For Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6) dinners cost £2.50 per day (£12.50 per week). Some pupils may be entitled to free meals if a parent/carer receives certain benefits. Dinner money must be paid in advance; payments are via ParentPay.
