Furze Platt Senior School provides SEND support through a dedicated team (SENCOs: Mrs Debbie Jack and Mrs Chrissy Cook; [email protected]). The Shine ASD Resource Base supports five students per year group as named on EHCPs. Range of support includes differentiated planning and in-class support, small group withdrawal for literacy/maths/anxiety, mentoring, and collaboration with outside agencies (Educational Psychologists, Sensory Consortium, Specialist Inclusion Service, CAMHS, Speech and Language Therapy, etc.). Parents/Carers involvement is encouraged, and progress is monitored through SLT meetings, regular reviews, and communications with external agencies. The SEND Information Report and SEN policies are available on the policies page.
Admissions are based on multiple criteria: EHCP; Looked after/adopted from care; Social and Medical; Children of staff; designated area with sibling; designated area with child at Holy Trinity Cookham, Cookham Rise, or Cookham Dean Primary School; designated area; not designated area with child at designated schools or Furze Platt Junior School; everyone else.
