Admissions Criteria

The Governors wish to offer 180 places for the year commencing September 2025. Where more applications are received than places available, the oversubscription criteria apply in descending order of priority: priority to Looked After Children and Previously Looked After Children; for ties, distance from the school acts as a tie-breaker, with random selection by lots used as a final tie-breaker for applicants at the same distance or block. Places will be offered first to Looked After Children and Previously Looked After Children and to those with a sibling (including adopted, foster, step or half siblings) attending the school at the time of admission; places will also be offered to children of staff directly employed by The Hollyfield School for two years or more before the admission application. The remaining places go to those living nearest the school as measured by Kingston Council’s GIS in a straight line to the main steps at the front of Albury House. Additional notes cover multiple births, admissions outside chronological year groups, waiting lists, appeals, and in-year applications. For Years 7-11, the position on waiting lists is determined by these oversubscription criteria, with waiting lists cleared annually and on-time vs. in-year applications handled according to the policy.
