WELCOME FROM THE HEADTEACHER: I am exceptionally proud to be Cotham’s headteacher; Cotham has an excellent reputation in Bristol built upon our creative and academic curriculum in Key Stages 3 and 4 and a GCSE and A Level examination record that is amongst the very best in the City.

Curriculum Highlights

Cotham School seeks to provide an education of the highest quality for all its students by offering an aspirational, broad and balanced curriculum. The curriculum at Cotham goes beyond the national curriculum, and consists of all activities within the school. The curriculum is designed to help students to become confident and resourceful young people, so that they: are ambitious for themselves and their peers; are proud to be Cotham students; develop lively, enquiring minds and get excited about learning; work hard, are articulate, courteous, considerate and kind; develop resilience, self-care strategies and positive mental health and wellbeing. The school aims to develop strong literacy and oracy skills and to raise self-esteem and promote equity of opportunity for all.

SEND Provision

Cotham School Pupil Premium provides core entitlements including additional teaching in Maths and English for students significantly underachieving, financial support to attend day trips and events linked to the curriculum, opportunities to take on additional responsibilities (e.g., Buddies, Student Leadership), access to external events to raise aspiration, one-to-one careers guidance from Year 9 onwards, in-school and external events attendance, access to Behaviour Support and other Student/Family Support services, free breakfast in the dining hall for those in need, access to a mobile device and broadband, and financial support for essential equipment and for specific trips; for children in care, up to £600 may be allocated from PPG upon supported application.
