"Be your best self"
Sheralee Webb MBE is the Executive Head Teacher of Northgate School Academy Trust. The Executive Head’s Welcome describes a focus on developing each child to be their ‘best self’, a nurturing environment, an ambitious, creative curriculum, and opportunities for pupils to develop self-esteem and independence for Preparation for Adulthood, with collaboration with parents and professionals to provide a safe learning environment and vocational/work-experience transition activities with local colleges and providers.
Northgate School Academy Trust is a school for pupils between the ages of 11 and 18 years with moderate or severe learning disabilities (MLD or SLD), alongside physical handicap (PH), sensory Impairment (HI and VI) and autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). The school admits pupils where it is named in the Local Authorities (LA) Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). The Academy Trust, working with Northamptonshire LA, has developed a specification outlining the needs of the pupils for which they are best able to provide, a description of the provision and its particular characteristics, the support that is in place and the structure of the school day. Details of this and the West Northants Local Offer click here. Prior to naming the school in an EHCP, the LA will have consulted fully with the Executive Head Teacher in line with their statutory obligations and set out in accordance with the ‘SEN and Disability Code of Practice’, to ensure the placement is appropriate to the needs of the child.
