Head Teacher's Message

Etz Chaim is a forward-thinking, nurturing, community-focused primary school that sets out to develop children who strive to reach their full potential, with high expectations, strong Jewish identity, and a commitment to Modern Orthodox Judaism. The school emphasises a broad, balanced curriculum, caring environment, and close home–school partnership, led by Headteacher Mrs Martin.

Curriculum Highlights

Reading, Writing and Mathematics form the main focus of the curriculum. Science, Art and Design and Technology, Music, History, Geography and Computing are studied. Jewish Studies and Ivrit are included in the weekly timetable. Cross-curricular links integrate secular and non-secular areas of the curriculum. Practical, hands-on learning with opportunities for outdoor learning and use of SeeSaw online learning platform.

SEND Provision

Where children have Special Educational Needs, individual education plans are produced which specifically address their needs. These are often based on the advice received from outside agencies who have conducted specific assessments on the child’s area of difficulty. Often additional resources are deployed to ensure that children with special needs are supported in reaching their challenging targets; they are expected to progress at the same rate as other children.
