Admissions Criteria

Admission to Main School is by Entrance Examination. Entry to Year 7 is by selection at the Entrance Examination. Our Pupil Admission Number is 180 with a 6-form entry from September 2024. The Entrance Examination for entry to Year 7 in September 2026 will take place on Saturday 27 September 2025. Applications for the Entrance Exam opened on 2 June 2025 and closed at 12:00 noon on 12 September 2025. An Open Evening is scheduled on 2 July 2025 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Pupils join our school from over 40 primary schools in the catchment area and beyond. In-year admissions require applicants to sit admission tests; oversubscription criteria apply if more applicants than places. Admissions Handbooks and Policies include Determined Admissions Policy (2026-2027) and Admissions Handbook (2026 entry) will be available soon, with prior years providing similar policies and appeals processes via Lancashire County Council.
