Welcome from Mr T Harris: Colyton Grammar School was founded in 1546 with a mission to provide high-quality education for academically able students. The school is a non-fee-paying, high-performing establishment that aims to combine intellectual curiosity and creativity with meritocracy and inclusivity, preparing students for university and the workplace.

SEND Provision

The SEND Department provides tailored support; where a student’s learning requires a specific programme beyond universal provision, parents are consulted. The SEND Department may refer students to external services. Each student with an Education, Health and Care Plan has a programme devised in liaison with support services and parents, and the programme is reviewed annually with the EHCP.

Admissions Criteria

Admission is determined by performance in entrance tests; applicants must achieve an eligible score to be admitted. A single Common Application Form (CAF) covers application to all state secondary schools, and a child will receive only one offer of a school place. Applicants with an EHC Plan or Statement naming the school must be eligible to be admitted.
