Ethos & Values

Niyyah Shakhsiyah Qudwah Halaqah Balaghah Minhaj al-Dirasi Minhaj al-Shimal Taqdir

Islamic Shakhsiyah Foundation is an educational charity with a contemporary educational model rooted in Quran, Sunnah and classical Islamic educational philosophy. The foundation of Shakhsiyah Education is Hadīth Jibrīl, and the characterisation of education that we find there in terms of imān, Islam and ihsān. Shakhsiyah Schools aim to nurture the natural disposition (fitrah) of each individual child to develop shakhsiyah Islamiyah (Islamic character) and to work in partnership with parents to enable students to reach their full potential academically and in their deen. The schools seek to develop leaders who serve both the Muslim community and humanity, preparing children for modern Britain and a global community while fostering harmony across cultures.

Head Teacher's Message

Dr Farah Ahmed (Director of Research and Education) welcomes readers to Shakhsiyah Schools. The Founder’s Welcome describes the schools as the product of over 20 years of collaboration among home-educating Muslim mothers, with the two independent Shakhsiyah Schools established in 2002. The model is built on Hadīth Jibrīl and the Islamic concepts of tarbiyah (upbringing), ta‘līm (acquisition of ilm) and ta’dīb (refinement). The message emphasizes a strong focus on shakhsiyah (personal character) and partnership with parents, with alumni pursuing diverse higher education paths and community leadership. The schools seek to develop leaders who serve both the Muslim community and humanity, and aim to prepare children for modern Britain while respecting Islamic culture and other communities.
