Portfields is a Foundation School admitting at a single point of entry in September for children starting school (EYFS). Official EYFS admission limit is 100 pupils. Admission is not selective and follows Equal Opportunities and social inclusion policies. The Governing Body uses criteria: (1) Looked After Children (LAC), previously looked after (PLAC) and internationally adopted previously looked after (IAPLAC); (2) Pupils living in the defined area (Poets Estate, specific Wolverton Road to Lakes Lane area, etc.) with siblings at the school; (3) Pupils living in the defined area; (4) Pupils outside the area with siblings at the school; (5) Pupils outside the defined area. Distance is used as a tie-breaker. Appeals process available if placement is refused.
