Head Teacher's Message

Welcome to Newark Orchard School from Headteacher Matt Joyce. The school is a special school for pupils aged 3 to 18 with a wide range of complex needs in a purpose-built setting, offering facilities such as a hydrotherapy pool, immersion room, sensory room, soft play, life skills and vocational skills, plus specialist curriculum rooms (Food Tech, D&T, Art and Science). The vision is 'Together We Aspire, Together We Achieve, Together We Thrive' and the curriculum is tailored to individual needs, with partnerships with mainstream schools in the Newark and Sherwood area.

Admissions Criteria

The decision about whether your child can be given a place at Newark Orchard is made by a member of the Integrated Children’s Disability Service (ICDS) after considering your child’s special needs, as detailed in their EHC Plan, following discussion with an Educational Psychologist and the Head Teacher of Newark Orchard School. If offered, the Local Authority will consider home-to-school transport according to the LA Transport Policy.
