Curriculum Highlights

Kapow Primary Design & Technology scheme with a spiral progression of skills, covering design, make and evaluate, and including cooking and nutrition. Art & Design includes six areas (Drawing, Pattern, Painting, Printing, Collage and Weaving, Form) with a whole-school arts week. Computing uses Teach Computing (Raspberry Pi Foundation/NCCE) aligned to the National Curriculum with four themes: computing systems and networks, programming, data and information, and creating media; emphasis on online safety; Google Classroom used to build portfolios. English develops reading and writing through a class-text approach, daily reading, and cross-curricular writing; emphasis on vocabulary, audience, and articulating personal views. Curriculum is designed to be cross-curricular with explicit links to other subjects and a progression of knowledge over time.
