Welcome to Oakwood Community School. The Headteacher’s message outlines the school’s threefold approach (Head, Heart, Hands), a holistic, inclusive ethos, and a commitment to preparing pupils for future life while fostering equality, mutual respect, and partnerships with families and professionals.
Oakwood Community School welcomes male and female pupils between the ages of 6 and 19. All pupils will need to have an Education Health Care Plan before admission to the school can be considered. Local authorities wishing to refer students should in the first instance contact the Headteacher. Admission arrangements are reviewed annually, and consultation takes place on changes; they are published in the school brochure and made available to parents/carers. The Headteacher will ensure pupils are admitted in accordance with this policy; the school is represented in the referral process; young people are placed at Oakwood school if it is appropriate to their individual needs.
