Admissions Criteria

Appleford welcomes pupils aged 7–18 with dyslexia and related learning needs. Pupils can be privately funded or Local Authority funded; international pupils are welcome. Admissions steps include: (1) contact the Registrar, (2) Parent Visit with the Headmaster, (3) Pupil Taster Visit (five days, including boarding if applicable), (4) Taster Feedback meeting, (5) complete Registration and start date, (6) Admission. A buddy may be assigned to help the child. Speech and Language and/or Occupational Therapy assessments may be carried out by the Therapy team. For privately funded places a contract is signed and a deposit is taken; Local Authority named EHCP placements may be funded by the authority. Reports are reviewed by the Therapy team; EHCP-related processes via the local authority may apply.
