"Consideration Always"
Our Lady of Sion School is a Catholic Foundation School that is non-denominational and welcomes students from all faiths as well as those who do not follow a religious faith. It emphasises the Charism of the Sisters of Our Lady of Sion, and the motto 'Consideration Always'. The school promotes an appreciation of diversity, equality and justice, and encourages students to develop a life-long passion for learning while responding compassionately to the needs of others and the planet.
Headteacher Steven Jeffery describes Sion as a vibrant, nurturing community that focuses on the whole child. He highlights the school’s global Sion network, values of respect, compassion and curiosity, and the motto 'Consideration Always'. The Learning Support Department works across Nursery to Sixth Form with in-class support and specialised intervention for dyslexia and other recognised difficulties. It offers after-school drop-in support for Senior School students, exam skills and preparation, spelling strategies, essay planning and writing, touch typing tuition, and guidance on anxiety and workload issues. The department collaborates with Nursery, Junior, and Senior staff to ensure appropriate strategies are used and enables suitable exam arrangements throughout the Senior School.
