Admissions Criteria

Wincanton Primary School follows admissions procedures set by Somerset Local Authority. In-Year Admissions are handled by contacting the preferred school directly (form available by ringing 0300 123 2224 or online). If a place exists within the Admission Number for the year group, the Headteacher will send out an offer letter. If no place is available within the Admission Number, the Local Authority may admit over the cap and contact the school to issue an offer; if the Local Authority does not agree, the parent will receive a refusal letter and information about other schools. There is a national closing date of 15 January for starting school applications, and outcomes are sent on 16 April (or next working day).
