English: emphasis on reading for pleasure, strong literacy, streamed forms, 6–8 lessons per week Mathematics: setted approach from Year 4, extended syllabus, Primary Maths Challenge, UKMT Junior/Intermediate, Inter‑league Maths Science: five courses over five years, two science labs, use of iPads for research and assessment Geography/History/Theology, Philosophy and Religion (TPR) integrated under Humanities, with fieldwork and on-site archives Art & Design Technology: broad art, ceramics, sculpture, and design with Artist in Residence; regular gallery visits and competitions Music: over 80% learn an instrument, ~260 weekly lessons, multiple ensembles and two choirs, Music Scholarships Drama: LAMDA lessons, frequent productions, back-stage and technical opportunities; strong performance culture Languages: French taught from Reception to Year 8; Mandarin and Russian offered; Year 7 French Day The Library: new central library (opened 2021) and open access throughout the week; literacy and research focus Learning Support: comprehensive but sensitive support for pupils with learning difficulties

Admissions Criteria

Most boys are accepted into their senior schools after Common Entrance; the school prepares pupils for assessment tests before Common Entrance, including verbal, quantitative, non-verbal and spatial reasoning; practice in reasoning tests and interviews; Year 8 examinations at the highest level; scholarships available to some pupils.
