Curriculum Highlights

Broad curriculum mirroring mainstream education with core subjects English, mathematics, science and humanities. Specialist subjects including computing and ICT, art and multimedia, and design and technology. Life skills development classes (cookery, gardening and construction). ASDAN Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) available for older students.

Admissions Criteria

The admissions process starts with completing our referral form or emailing [email protected] with the latest version of the child’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP); after initial enquiry, an on-site assessment is arranged (outreach visits may be conducted to the child’s current school or care provider); an official consultation from the local authority or Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is undertaken to determine if an Aurora service is right; if placement is agreed, an application is submitted to the local authority/CCG for funding; a personalised programme is then built to ensure a smooth transition into the Aurora community.
