Head Teacher's Message

Headteacher Miss S Odedra welcomes visitors and outlines Herrick’s ethos and approach: a focus on nurturing social, emotional, physical and mental wellbeing, high expectations, an inclusive, well-planned curriculum tailored to pupils’ needs, and a welcoming, visit-friendly atmosphere. SEND Provision

Herrick Primary School's SENDCo is Arzu Aydin (Assistant Head Teacher). The school provides SEND support through teams and services including Early Years Support Team, Learning, Communication and Interaction Team, Speech and Language Therapy Service, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Team, Educational Psychologist, Vision/Hearing Support Teams, Health Child Programme Nurse, and other medical/therapy services. The school has a designated SEN budget to fund staff, resources and intervention programmes. Regular progress review through pupil outcome planning (POP) and three data entry points, with involvement of families in decisions. Transition and accessibility measures are described, and the school adopts an inclusive ethos with a zero-tolerance approach to bullying for pupils with SEND.
