Head Teacher's Message

Marriott Primary School is a diverse, inclusive community with high expectations, led by Co-Headteachers Ms Neill and Mrs Tucker. The school emphasizes high-quality teaching, resilience and strong relationships, aims for good or better progress in reading, writing and numeracy, and strives to prepare pupils for secondary education and beyond. Ofsted (May 2022) rated the school as Good, with staff caring for pupils and strong SEND support; the governing body and staff work closely with parents to support learning.

Curriculum Highlights

Five themes woven through the curriculum Three-phase writing approach: stimulus -> language development -> focused writing task Emphasis on sentence-level work, spelling and handwriting; daily handwriting practice Spelling taught with the Spelling Shed programme; ALS Phonics approach to phonics (based on Letters and Sounds) with Dandelion Books Computing uses a computational thinking approach with real-life contexts National Curriculum subjects taught, including English, Maths, Science, Design and Technology, History, Geography, Art and Design, Music, PE (including swimming), Computing; Religious Education; RSHE; citizenship; modern foreign languages (KS1 and KS2)
