The Sunshine Room is a Designated Specialist Provision (DSP) for EHCPs focusing on communication and interaction needs. Maximum capacity: 10 places. Admission is for children from Reception to Year 6. SENDCo: Mrs Heselton; DSP Lead Teacher: Mrs Lynch; Teaching Assistants: Mrs Bosmanova, Mrs Makwana, Mrs Kukadia and Mr Keshwara. Transport provided according to Local Authority SEND transport policy. The Sunshine Room is an integral part of Sandfield Close Primary School; children receive specialised lessons in the DSP and join mainstream classes where possible.
All admissions are managed by Leicester City Council’s Admissions Department. For a Reception place, apply online via www.leicester.gov.uk/admissions, usually before the mid-January deadline prior to the September start.
