Admiss ions cover 13+ entry (Year 9) for boys with full boarding and 16+ entry for boys and girls (Sixth Form) with day and boarding options. The process for 13+ includes Year 6 siting of ISEB Common Pre-Tests (Stage 1) and an interview (Stage 2) with a Housemaster or senior leader; an Academic Scholarship process known as Election involves written exams and interviews and typically takes place over three days in April–May. The Winchester Entrance exam is used for some candidates, while Election is used in place of Winchester Entrance for exceptional 8th-year candidates. Registration and an acceptance deposit (£2,000) are required if offered a place. For bursaries or Founder’s Scholarships, applicants are informed at the same time as the offer. Financial support is means-tested and available to many pupils; there are Founder’s Scholarships (25% fee remission) and Music/Sport Awards. 16+ entry includes Sixth Form admissions for boys and girls with day and boarding; registration details and assessments occur in Year 11–12, with bursary and scholarship options also available.
Registration fee £480; Acceptance fee £2,000. Founder’s Scholarships provide 25% remission of fees. There is a substantial means-tested bursary programme (which can cover 100% of school fees and additional costs for eligible pupils) and means-tested Wykeham Award bursaries for Sixth Form entrants.
