Clubs
Fairisle Infant and Nursery School provides additional and/or different provision for a range of SEN/D needs including communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social, emotional and mental health, and sensory/physical needs. Identification and assessment of needs is decided by the class teacher, SENDCo and the child’s parents. All children on the SEN/D register have an Individual Educational Plan (IEP) with targets set by the class teacher with input from the SENDCo and any involved outside agencies. The school works with external agencies (e.g., Southampton Psychology Service, SAOS, CAHMS, NHS Speech and Language Therapy, SALT) and provides targeted interventions such as Speech and Language work, BLAST, Time for Talking, Attention Autism, phonics and reading/writing/maths support. The approach follows a graduated INTENT-IMPLEMENT-IMPACT framework and uses tailored interventions to meet each child’s needs.
