St Thomas of Canterbury C of E Primary School is a Church of England school with close links to St Thomas of Canterbury Parish Church. The church is the Church of England parish for Brentwood in the diocese of Chelmsford. Father Mark leads weekly worships, a weekly class-based Eucharist, and is Chair of the Governing Body. The school participates in a full-school Eucharist each term, and Year 5 and 6 have the opportunity to attend Confirmation classes and become Eucharistic Assistants.
Headteacher Dean Moran welcomes visitors to a thriving, Christian school community focused on providing a high-quality education, building firm foundations in Early Years, supporting smooth transitions to Key Stage 2, and fostering partnership with families in a calm, caring environment where children are known, valued and respected.
Sports
The school provides SEND support with a committed staff base, small classes, close working relationships with outside agencies, individual learning programmes, care plans and pupil profiles. It has access to Essex Local Offer and an Educational Psychologist as needed, with staff upskilling through a pupil-led CPD programme. The Local Authority coordinates normal admissions; mid-year applications can be made via the school using the Mid-Year Application process; all applicants must complete a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) and return it to the school (not to the Local Authority).
