Curriculum Highlights

Five core values identified across our school community (Prepared, Respectful, Ownership, United, Determined). Curriculum guided by Tim Oates’ key constructs, Lucy Crehan’s mastery curriculum, and Michael Young’s powerful knowledge; alignment with Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction. The KS3 curriculum provides broad experience across languages, performing arts and design, food and design technology, humanities and computing, while focusing on English, mathematics, science, RPS and PE; includes a nurture group for some Year 7 students. All key constructs underpinned by component knowledge, enabling 'powerful knowledge' and secure progression. Curriculum design uses a 'mastery' principle and 'Lead lessons' to secure understanding and uncover misconceptions. Curriculum is coherent, expertly sequenced, broad and balanced, and accessible to all learners; strong reading emphasis; personal development includes PSHE, careers, and enrichment; KS4 offers EBacc GCSE option with equal value on vocational/technical learning.
