"Ridgeway Infant School, Together we can…Think Big, Have Fun, Learn More!"
Warm Welcome from Headteacher Mrs T Dale: Ridgeway is a warm, welcoming, and vibrant place to learn with high expectations, a focus on independence, enquiry-based learning, and strong community involvement, including a on-site forest school.
Wraparound care is offered on site and can include Breakfast Club (7:30am–8:45am) and After School Club (3:20pm–5:45pm, 5:15pm on Fridays). Up to 30 children can be accommodated each morning and afternoon. Registration is via an online account; sessions must be paid for in advance; there is a Club Manager on site supported by Playworkers; staff are trained in health and safety, paediatric first aid and safeguarding. Contact [email protected] or mobile 07955 150486 (club hours only).
Ridgeway Infant School uses a graduated approach to SEND with a Designated Safeguarding Lead, Learning Mentor and SENDCo. Targeted group work and interventions are used, with possible referrals to outside professionals and services. Progress is reviewed regularly through a four-part cycle, with involvement from families and outside agencies when needed to support learning and wellbeing.
Ridgeway Infant School can admit up to 90 children per year group (infant classes capped at 30 per class). Admissions priority typically follows: looked after children; looked after children previously looked after who are adopted or in a special guardianship arrangement; siblings in the catchment area; other children living in the catchment area; out-of-area applicants with siblings; other applicants. Proximity to the school is measured by straight-line distance, with tie-break by walking route distance, and priority given to those with an Education Health and Care (EHC) plan.
