Religious Education is taught throughout the school and is based upon Derby City Council’s Agreed Syllabus for RE. The school has strong links with the Open Centre in Derby and two local churches which further enhance the pupils' knowledge and understanding of different faiths and cultures.
Welcome to Shelton Infant School. Our aims are simple: Achieve Well, Aim High, Have Fun. We offer a creative and exciting approach to teaching within a safe and caring environment. Each child is valued as an individual, supported by a highly skilled team to enable every child to achieve as highly as possible.
Clubs
Sunrise Crew (breakfast club) runs from 8:00am with breakfast provided; daily charge £2.50 (£1 for pupils eligible for pupil premium). Sunset Crew (after-school club) runs from 3:20pm to 6:00pm; daily charge £8.50. Both clubs are open to all pupils attending the school or Nursery and offer a range of activities.
Shelton Infant School is inclusive and uses a graduated response to SEND with universal, targeted and specialist support. If needed, a Multi-agency Education Plan (MEP) is written to explain the support. If needs exceed this, the school may discuss applying for an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) with Derby City Council. A SEND Governor supports SEND, and staff are DBS checked; safeguarding and online safety are integrated into practice.
