Curriculum Highlights

Structured transition package from Key Stage 2 with opportunities to take part in Super Saturday taster days across a variety of subjects. Daily 30-minute literacy sessions. Broad Key Stage 3 programme with progression to Key Stage 4 and a wide range of subjects, including option choices. Core subjects taught in sets; English includes English language and English literature; Science offered as double award with a top‑up option to single/triple science as appropriate. Option subjects include Animal Care, Art and Design, Computer Science, Drama, French, Film Studies, Food Technology, Geography, Health and Social Care, History, Music, Music Technology, Philosophy and Ethics, Photography, Product Design, Spanish, Sport Studies/Sports Science.

SEND Provision

The ARB SEND provision at Redruth School is delivered by specialist staff and focuses on small-group learning with bespoke interventions. It includes regular contact with parents, pupil passports on Provision Maps to ensure consistent support, classroom support from teaching and support staff, and timetabled access to the SEN base (STEPS) for small group work. Interventions include spelling support, exam question support, social skills groups, working memory support, and reading/ decoding teaching. There are appropriate markings for Visually Impaired students, loaned IT equipment for school/home use, and consideration of Exams Access Arrangements, with spaces for external agency input as needed.
