Welcome to Torpoint Community College. We are dedicated to giving students an excellent education that will transform their lives, with a vibrant, happy and calm environment, inspirational teaching, a broad STEAM curriculum and a strong emphasis on health and wellbeing and community involvement.

Curriculum Highlights

STEAM Deep Learning approach across a 3-year KS3 framework KS3 is a 3-year programme designed to prepare students for KS4 option choices, with retrieval practice and knowledge building KS4 is a 2-year framework allowing students to select a range of subjects in addition to English, Maths and Science KS5 is a 2-year framework enabling further subject choices to deepen knowledge Broad and balanced curriculum including Science, Geography, Psychology, Technology and Design, English, History, Media, MFL, Religious Studies, Art, Drama, Music, PE, Mathematics, Computing Focus on knowledge and cultural capital; vocabulary mapping; 'deep sequenced learning' across subjects Tutor Programme and Reading; PSHE and Careers; Literacy and Numeracy integration Regular retrieval tasks to develop mastery and help students store knowledge in long-term memory
