"Love and Justice for all"
Guilden Sutton Church of England Primary School is a Church of England school. The ethos is underpinned by Christian values: love, justice, compassion, wisdom, forgiveness and friendship. The school has strong links with St John the Baptist Church in Guilden Sutton and weekly Collective Worship led by Reverend Heather Carty; religious festivals are celebrated and pupils have opportunities to worship, reflect and be still.
Headteacher Theresa Rainford welcomes families to Guilden Sutton Church of England Primary School, highlighting an inclusive school family atmosphere with a Christian ethos. She notes the diverse community, the motto Love and Justice for all, a broad and balanced curriculum based on the teachings of Jesus, a safe and secure environment, strong church links, and a commitment to wellbeing and high aspirations. The school is proud of its Ofsted Outstanding status and emphasises mutual respect, range of opportunities, and partnership with families.
The school provides Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSA) to support emotional health and wellbeing. Our ELSA space is described as calm and private for students who need support; sessions cover areas such as self-esteem, emotions, loss and bereavement, social skills, and anxiety. ELSA work is delivered by Mrs Robinson and Mrs Lightfoot-Ward, with additional space called the 'Cosy Corner' for relaxation.
