Upton Westlea has a 15-place resourced provision (Eden) for children with Autism. Places are allocated by the SEN assessment and monitoring team and every child has an EHCP. Each child has a Personalised Learning Plan. The provision groups aim to reflect development stages (Mighty Oaks, Mini Oaks, Little Acorn, Seedling) and includes a mix of mainstream access with differentiated learning, plus a focus on engagement via multi-sensory and SALT-supported approaches. Staff liaise with outside agencies (including SALT) and use approaches such as Attention Autism and Intensive Interaction.
Nursery offers 15 and 30 hour funded places. For full days, a lunch time contribution of £2 per full day is charged (this does not include food). Snack money is £1.20 per week. A hot dinner can be purchased for £3.15 per day.
