Headmistress Kate Bailey welcomes readers to Godstowe, describing the school as a happy, aspirational and vibrant community that combines high academic standards with pastoral care, offers a wide range of clubs, and aims to prepare girls for senior schools and life beyond.

Catering is outsourced to CH&Co and offers hot main courses, vegetarian and vegan options, jacket potatoes, homemade soup, a salad bar, dessert, yoghurt and fresh fruit; regular “pop-ups” – e.g. freshly made sushi; special dates for international boarders; sustainability initiatives include growing herbs, zero-waste vegetables (skin-on when served), reusing leftovers, recycling tins for risers and looking into how plate waste is used for the composter.
Godstowe is an independent Prep School offering day and boarding for girls aged 7-13. We also have a Nursery and Pre-Prep for girls and boys aged 3-7. The school welcomes pupils from all backgrounds and is non-selective, but older girls are asked to complete assessments in English and Maths to determine appropriate class placement. If space allows, we are happy to accept new starters into all year groups. We take boys up to Year 2 and girls may start boarding from Year 3. Registration is open for September 2026 and for future years.
