Englefield CE Primary is a Church of England Primary School, for children of all faiths and none. The Christian vision and values influence all aspects of school life. The school has close links with local churches (notably St Mark7s Englefield and others) and regular clergy involvement; worship is part of daily life and acts of worship are led by local clergy and School Worship Group. It works with the Oxford Diocese Board of Education to provide a rich, stimulating curriculum and collective worship.
Welcome to Englefield CE Primary School. Headteacher Kate Galvin presents Englefield as a small, inclusive, nurturing community with high academic expectations and a broad, fully inclusive curriculum. She highlights opportunities across arts, sport, gardening and even bee-keeping, and invites visits to the school.
As a Voluntary Aided school, the Governing Body is responsible for admissions and works with West Berkshire Local Authority to coordinate admissions. The school admits pupils at a single point of entry at the beginning of the academic year in September for children whose 5th birthday falls between 1 September and 31 August. Places are offered on a full-time basis, with the option for part-time attendance until the child reaches 5 years old. Applications for places outside the normal admissions round are to be made directly to the school. The school is described as popular and oversubscribed with defined oversubscription criteria; details are in the Downloads/Admissions Policy on the Admissions page.
