Florence Rostron welcomes visitors and describes Calcot Schools as a group of nursery, infant and junior schools working together with an open-door policy, a focus on learning and achievement, and a strong partnership with staff, governors and parents.

Calcot Schools provides SEND support with a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) register; Each child on the SEND register has a Success and Achievement Plan (SAP) with personalised targets. Interventions include a sensory hut, two fully qualified ELSAs, Read, Write Inc, Catch Up Reading, SNAP Maths, AcceleRead/Write. In Year Five there is access to Language and Literacy Centres (LALs) for selected pupils. Interventions may be delivered one-to-one or in small groups and are reviewed regularly by the Inclusion Manager and class teacher. The Inclusion Manager is Miss E Kirkby.
Priority admission criteria: 1) Looked After Children by West Berkshire Council; 2) Children whose home address is in the area served by the school; 3) Children who have brothers or sisters attending the school; 4) Children whose parents choose the school on denominational grounds; 5) Children whose parents have any other reason for their choice. If places remain insufficient, priority is given to children who fulfil more than one criterion, with final decision based on radial distance from home to school.
