Head Teacher's Message

Headteacher Geraldine Ross welcomes visitors and describes Westwood Farm Schools as a place where nurturing, inspiring and supporting children to achieve is central. She emphasizes the aim for children to become lifelong learners who grow academically, socially and emotionally, in a safe and inclusive environment, with a motto of Nurture, Inspire, Achieve.

Large teaching space (Infant HRB) Smaller teaching room (HRB) Sensory room (HRB) Audiology and office areas (Junior base) Four rooms for individual or small group work (Junior base) Carpets and acoustically tiled ceilings to lessen reverberation Sound field systems in classrooms and school halls that connect to pupils’ radio aids

SEND Provision

Westwood Farm provides SEND provisions including a Hearing Resource Base (HRB) for hearing-impaired pupils run in partnership with West Berkshire Council, with two HRBs (Infant and Junior). The resource base follows the mainstream curriculum with differentiation, provides speech and language therapy sessions, employs Teachers of the Deaf and specialist teaching assistants, and maintains small-group or 1:1 support. Placement typically requires an EHCP with a primary need relating to hearing impairment, and staff collaborate with NHS therapy services (Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy) as part of a universal therapy service available on site.

Admissions Criteria

We follow the West Berkshire Council Nursery Admissions Policy and there is a catchment area for Westwood Farm Schools and Nursery Class.
