SEND Provision

The Everest Centre Resource Base at Furze Platt Primary Federation is designed to support 10 children who have an Autism diagnosis and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). It provides autism-specific interventions within the Everest Centre, with all staff having Autism-specific training. The Centre mirrors the mainstream classroom and aims for children to spend up to 50% of the day in the Everest Centre, with the remainder in mainstream classes; day allocations are planned to support gradual integration. Applications to the Resource Base follow a separate process from mainstream admissions and require a diagnosis of Autism, an EHCP and potential for inclusion in the mainstream. Contact: [email protected].

Admissions Criteria

Admissions are determined by RBWM criteria: 1) Looked-after children or previously looked-after; 2) Children with exceptional medical or social reasons; 3) Junior schools linked to this infant school; 4) Children who live in the designated area and have a sibling at the school; 5) Children who live in the designated area; 6) Children with a sibling at the school; 7) Children of a member of staff; 8) Children with any other reason for their preference. If places are insufficient within a category, proximity determines priority, with random allocation used if distances are equal.
