Admissions Criteria

Admissions to Baytree are determined by the Local Authority following consultation with the school. The school supports up to 120 learners aged 3 to 19 across Weston and Clevedon campuses. The following criteria are used: Severe Learning Difficulties and/or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties specified as the main need in the pupil’s Statement of SEN or Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP); needs that can be met through the school’s provision, resources and staff; consideration of exceptional circumstances; needs are compatible with the interests of other pupils; additional resources may be allocated by the Local Authority in exceptional circumstances. The Headteacher decides on acceptability of a pupil after discussions with the School Leadership Team, with a formal appeals pathway to the Governing Body if needed.
