Religious Education follows Sunderland City Council's 'agreed syllabus' which reflects the 5 main religions in the world. The focus is on comparison of religions which helps children understand the main teaching and how they relate to each other. Children are encouraged to gain respect, awareness and understanding of world religions. Assemblies enable children to develop a sense of community therefore belonging. Parents/carers have the right to withdraw their child from the school's daily act of worship and/or religious education. This should be arranged following a meeting with the Head teacher.
