The message highlights a strong staff team, partnership with families, pupil voice, and wraparound care.

Ryhope Junior School provides inclusive SEND provision within a mainstream setting. The SENDCo is responsible for day-to-day management of SEND, coordinating provision, and liaising with parents and external agencies. The school uses Personal Support Plans (PSPs) for pupils with SEND and works with external services such as Education Services, Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, CAMHS, Social Services and others. It also runs wellbeing and sensory support areas and identifies the school as autism-friendly.
The school operates a two-form entry system with Published Admission Numbers of Year 3: 60, Year 4: 60, Year 5: 60, Year 6: 60. Sunderland Local Authority does not operate a catchment area, and all parents have a right to apply for a school place. For transfers, in-year transfer procedures involve a Pupil Transfer Notice and contact with the City of Sunderland Admissions Team. The school adheres to admission procedures and there is a right to appeal. Waiting lists are managed by the Admissions Team.
