Curriculum Highlights

Junior School curriculum broadly follows the National Curriculum, not restricted by it, with more time devoted to Science, Physical Education (including a swimming lesson every week), Music and Drama; End of Key Stage 2 SATs results consistently above national averages. Senior School curriculum is broad and wide-ranging; Years 7–9 study core subjects with options to choose in Year 9; at GCSE students take 10 GCSEs (some take an extra GCSE in Further Maths); a mixture of GCSE and IGCSE are offered; IGCSEs are described as directly equivalent in university applications but a more valuable preparation for A Level. Sixth Form has over 350 students; described as one of the largest Sixth Forms in the independent sector; emphasis on top grades and opportunities beyond the classroom; strong pastoral care with a UCAS advisor, nurses and counsellors.
