Admissions Criteria

Barley Mow Nursery has an admission limit of 30 pupils in Reception. Children start at the beginning of the academic year in which they reach the age of five; the academic year runs from 1 September to 31 August. Full-time places are offered; part-time attendance can be requested until later in the year. You may request admission later in the school year following September 2026, but not beyond compulsory school age or beyond April of the final term. Admissions are co-ordinated with Gateshead; relevant references include Gateshead Admission to Primary School Guide for Parents/Carers 26-27, Gateshead Primary Admissions Policy, and Nursery Admissions Policy 25.
