Welcome to Carr Hill Community Primary School. The school aims to provide a warm, safe environment where children feel secure and valued. Teaching and learning should be enjoyable, purposeful and challenging. The curriculum is designed to equip pupils with key skills for life.

Carr Hill is a mainstream school for students from the ages of 3 to 11. The school is inclusive and provides support for pupils with SEND within the school. The SEN Information Report explains identification of need, assessment, monitoring and review processes, and involves parents. Depending on needs, referrals can be made to services such as SEN Improvement Team (SENIT), High Incidence Needs Team (HINT), Low Incidence Needs Team (LINT), Portage Service, Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy (SALT), Occupational Therapy (OT), CYPS and social care. If needed, a Common Assessment Framework (CAF) may be used to form a Team around the Family (TAF). An Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) can be requested from the Local Authority, and annual reviews occur for pupils with EHCPs.
Carr Hill admits up to 45 children into their Reception classes (PAN). The school also admits 45 pupils into each year group from Reception to Year 6. Gateshead Council makes decisions for admissions to Carr Hill and allocations follow Gateshead Council procedures. Places for In Year admissions can be obtained, and tours of the school can be arranged. PAN for each year group is 45. Gateshead Council manages admission arrangements and waiting lists.
