Wraparound Care

Brightlings Wrap Around Care offers Breakfast Club from 7:30am and After School Club from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Foundation Stage morning/afternoon sessions and school day timings are as published in the Brightlings wrap around care section: Lower Foundation Stage half day, Upper Foundation Stage full day, and school day hours/drops-offs as described in the admissions/brightlings information.

SEND Provision

West Bretton is described as an inclusive school with a SEND information page. The SENDCo is identified, and the school states it follows the Wakefield Graduated Approach (Assess, Plan, Do, Review) with termly Planning Discussions and SEND consultations involving parents. Admissions Criteria

West Bretton can take up to 15 pupils in each year group. Lower Foundation Stage places are offered to interested parents, with full-time placements usually through Wakefield Local Authority. Lower Foundation Stage children stay at least five mornings (with extended hours available to 3:30pm). For full-time reception places, applications are through the Local Authority Admissions department. Transition visits and meetings support smooth transitions, and if more applications are received than places, the local authority policy criteria apply.
