Positivity Respect Inclusivity Determination Excellence

RE follows The Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education in Calderdale, Kirkless and Leeds and is taught weekly from Year 1 to Year 6; Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism are covered in greater depth; pupils visit at least one place of worship each year; the programme is delivered by classroom teachers and teaching assistants, with outside visitors such as the school nurse involved where appropriate; aims to develop understanding, respect and empathy for different beliefs.
