Admissions Criteria

Birchfield Primary School is a community school with Leeds City Council as the admission authority. The Published Admission Number (PAN) for Reception in 2026 is 30. An Open Evening for prospective parents is held in November each year. Applications for Reception 2026 follow the Leeds admissions process with a national closing date of 15 January 2026. Offers are made by the Local Authority on or around 16 April 2026. The admissions timetable includes key dates (1 November 2025 applications open, 12 February 2026, 28 February 2026, 30 April 2026, 15 May 2026). In-year applications are handled via the Leeds coordinated in-year application scheme. Appeals are arranged by Leeds City Council. Infant class size is limited to 30 pupils per teacher for Reception-Year 2, with infant class size appeals possible. Nursery Admissions Policy and Leeds Admissions Policy also apply.
