"Results through Relationships"
Headteacher Kyle Audsley emphasises 'Results through Relationships' and describes Spen Valley as trauma-informed and attachment-aware, prioritising strong relationships, emotional safety, and an aspirational curriculum. The leader aims to ensure every student feels safe, supported, and able to thrive, with staff going the extra mile and a focus on building a caring, resilient community.
Spen Valley High School is a fully inclusive mainstream school with SEND provision including a Personalised Learning Provision (PLP) and in-house counselling via the Wellbeing Centre. The SENCO is Mrs Morris and the Deputy SENCO is Mrs Williamson. The Wellbeing Centre is managed by Mr R March and supports safeguarding and wellbeing; counselling is available for students when needs are identified.
The school holds an Open Evening in the Autumn Term. For admissions guidance see the Admissions Policy. Applications for a secondary school place (year 7) can be submitted online between 1 September and 31 October, and in-year applications are online as well.
